Here's the news we've been waiting for! Congratulations to Linna Lichtenegger and Holly Powell. They are headed to the State competition in April for the National History Day competition. Holly and Linna will join students from across the state on April 26 at Missouri University.

We're thrilled to share that Linna Lichtenegger's solo performance wasn't her only standout achievement!
The High School band, under the direction of Mr. Luke Vetter, also impressed at the Missouri Small School Band Directors Association Band Festival in Scott City, earning an Outstanding (2) rating!
Kudos to the entire HS band and Mr. Vetter on this fantastic accomplishment!

A Tiger mauling on the Radio Justin Dee's had 29 points, and 12 rebounds to lead Marquand to a 77-28 win over St Paul Lutheran School in Farmington on Monday night. The game, which was broadcast on KFMO radio in Park Hills, was the 8th win of the season for the Tigers. Marquand led 25-12 after one with Dees scoring 18 of the first 25 points. The Tigers didn't look back, holding St Paul to only 1 point in the 4th quarter enroute to the win. Hayden Wolfe finished with 20 and Joshua Whitener had 12. MZ is scheduled to play Meadow Heights on Tuesday but due to inclement weather that game is likely going to be postponed. Final once again. Marquand 77, St Paul 28. Justin Dees was named KFMO/Little Caesar's Pizza player of the game. He received a certificate for a Free Pizza and a one of a kind t-shirt for his performance.

Huge congratulations to Senior Braydan Homan on achieving an incredible milestone - scoring his 1000th point tonight in the basketball game against Lesterville! What an outstanding accomplishment! We are beyond proud of Braydan's hard work, dedication, and passion for the game.


🤘🏽🎸HOCO Spirit Week February 10-14th 🎸🤘🏽

On February 7, 2025, Mrs. Cook and four Marquand Elementary students traveled to Mineral Area College to compete in the MCTM Math League competition. Participants were Elissa Lichtenegger (5th) grade, Jonah Pirtle, Sawyer Berry, and Samuel Cannon 4th grade. Elissa received 3rd in Number Sense 5th grade, Sawyer received 3rd place in Number Sense 4th grade, Samuel was awarded 3rd in Sprint, 2nd in Target Event, Number Sense, and 2nd Overall 4th Grade.


Huge congratulations to the MZ Tigers on their impressive 70-44 win against Zalma, securing a 3rd place finish in the Mississippi Valley Conference Tournament! We're beyond proud of each and every one of you! Your hard work, determination, and teamwork have truly paid off!

Second Quarter Honor Roll and Elementary Scholars Announced.
Marquand Zion schools released the 2nd quarter Honor Roll and Elementary Scholars. Scholars were invited to a special lunch with Mr. Blake.


Marquand Zion School would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to our neighboring school district and the entire Meadow Heights School community on the loss of one of their beloved students, a senior class of 2025 member.
