The MS boys wrapped up their Track and Field season this past week!
They went to the Potosi MS Invitational in Potosi, MO on April 24. (This had originally been scheduled for April 20 but was rescheduled due to weather.) This was a very large meet with several schools attending. Kolby Stafford was able to achieve his PR (personal record) in both discus and shot put that day. He threw 35.20 meters in discus (115 feet, 5.827 inches) and 9.04 meters in shot put (29 feet, 7.906 inches). He placed 7th out of 33 boys in discus and 17th out of 33 boys in shot put. In discus, he was the only 7th grader in the top 16; all the others were 8th graders! Eli Reimler ran his first 800-meter race at Potosi and turned out a pretty decent time!
They traveled to Sikeston, MO the next day for the Sikeston MS Invitational. Hayden Wolfe placed 4th out of 20 boys in the 1600-meter race (1 away from a medal). Kolby Stafford continued his success at discus, bringing home a second-place medal! Blake Stephens wrapped up his season by running the 100m and 200m dashes in each race, keeping consistent times and making improvements!
The boys also traveled to Farmington, MO to the Farmington MS Invitational on April 17. Kolby Stafford was able to bring home a 4th place medal out of 23 boys in discus, and Hayden Wolfe placed 7th out of 18 boys in the 1600-meter race. Eli Reimler and Blake Stephens turned in a good performance in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes!
The season seemed to fly by, and their coaches loved working with these boys! Thank you to everyone who supported them and to Heath Stephens for driving the bus!

Kaylee Stafford had 2 meets last week. The first was the Potosi Invitational in Potosi, MO on April 18 where she brought home not just 1 but 2 medals, finishing in the top 3 in both of her events! She took 2nd place in shot put out of 23 girls and 3rd place in discus out of 25 girls. She was able to achieve a season best in discus, throwing just over 90 feet 2 inches (27.48 meters).
Her other meet was the Taylor Werner Invitational in Ste. Genevieve, MO on Friday, April 21. She threw her season best of 10.25 meters in shot put which earned her a first place medal! 🏅 She took 5th place in discus! It was an exciting evening before leaving on senior trip the next morning!!
