The Class of 2026 has officially made it back home, and if we’re being honest, we’re probably going to need a nap that lasts until graduation! Our senior trip to Gulf Shores, Alabama was one for the record books, filled with the best food, high-speed go-cart races, competitive rounds of mini-golf, and so much more. Whether they were cruising the trails on e-bikes, hitting the shops, or soaring over the ocean while parasailing, every moment was an absolute blast. We even had some serious luck on our side, as one of our students managed to win a Nintendo Switch at the arcade! Of course, no beach trip is complete without those long, relaxing hours spent recharging by the pool and soaking up the sun on the sand at the beach. I (Mrs. Stephens) have a small confession to make: I may or may not have started a Nerf gun war that I was entirely unprepared for! I quickly learned that this class has tactical skills (and aim) I didn't see coming. Beyond the Nerf chaos, we also had a bit of a fashion revolution happening. It seemed like everywhere we turned, someone was rocking a fantastic new find; we had Pokémon, Luigi, pirate, and sailor hats popping up all week long, plus a few others I probably lost track of! It was so much fun seeing everyone embrace the vacation spirit with their new gear. Class of 2026, thank you for the laughs and for making this trip so unforgettable. We’re coming home with sun-kissed faces, suitcases full of unique hats, and memories that will last a lifetime!

Mr. Blake had bus trouble this morning so Heath's route will be running late, but he will be there. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
Kolby Stafford continues to find success as the 2026 Track and Field season moves on! Kolby competed in 4 meets over the past two weeks.
Jackson Varsity Meet on April 7th: Kolby had the option to compete in the Junior Varsity division since he is a 10th grader, but chose to compete at the Varsity level in both discus and shot put. He had an amazing day in discus, throwing another "personal best" of 51.13 meters! At the beginning of this T&F season, Kolby had set a goal to throw 50 meters in a meet, so he has met and surpassed that goal already! This throw not only gave him a 2nd place medal (out of 28 boys) but also gave him an "Elite Performance" recognition on MoMileSplit. He finished in 18th place in shot put that day as well.
Ste. Genevieve Varsity Meet on April 9th: Kolby again had great throws in discus. He was able to bring home another 2nd place medal with a throw of 48.82 meters. This earned him another "Elite Performance" recognition on MoMileSplit.
Grandview Varsity Meet on April 13: Kolby competed against 20 other boys and was able to bring home a 1st place medal.
Farmington Varsity Meet on April 14: Kolby competed against 32 other boys in discus. Kolby has befriended one of his competitors, a Scott City senior boy named Carter Burger. Carter had completed all 4 of his throws with a distance of 50.77 meters, which put him in first place. Kolby made his final 2 throws, and on his last throw, his spin brought him around too fast, and he had to put his hands down outside of the ring to catch himself. The man in charge of discus did not see him do this and ruled his throw fair. Kolby knew that he had fallen out of the ring, and it was not a fair throw, so he immediately walked over to the man and told him that he had put his hands down outside of the ring, and the throw should not count. They did go ahead and measure the throw, and it ended up being 50.92 meters, which would have given him a first-place finish. However, Kolby chose to be honest and do the right thing that day! What a proud moment for his coaches and family, who were there to see him! He was still able to bring home a second-place medal!
As of right now, Kolby is ranked #1 on the Top 100 list of all 10th-grade boys in Missouri for discus. He is sitting in the #12 spot for all HS boys (9-12 graders) in Missouri for discus.
If the weather permits, Kolby will have 3 regular-season meets left, his next one being at Potosi on April 21. After those meets, he will wrap up the regular season at the SEMO Conference All Division Meet on Friday, May 1, at Cape Central HS. He will then compete at the Class 1 District Championship in hopes of moving on to Sectionals. The District Championship will be held at the Notre Dame HS in Cape Girardeau on Saturday, May 9. (More information will be provided regarding times and admission prices at a later date.)
We are very proud of you, Kolby, not just for the accolades and medals you have earned but even more for the respectable young man that you have become!

There will be no HS TOP today due to low attendance.
UPDATE: There will be no elementary basketball clinic tonight. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
The past couple of weeks have proven to be successful for our 10th-grade thrower, Kolby Stafford. Kolby had 3 meets: March 25 at North County; March 26 at Woodland, and March 31 at Jefferson HS in Festus.
North County brought another "personal best" (PB) for Kolby in discus. He was able to secure a 1st place medal with a throw of 46.94 meters. He also finished in 9th place for shot put.
Woodland's meet was not an "Invitational" but an "Open." Since it was an "Open" meet, there were no awards/medals given. However, Kolby had a very successful day in both discus and shot put. He was able to take 2nd place out of 24 boys in discus with a throw of 49.01 meters. This is his season-best throw so far. (Keep in mind that he ended last season at 42.29 meters as his furthest throw.) He also did well in shot put, finishing 6th place out of 27 boys. We told him that if he finished in the top 5 on either event, we could probably round him up a medal!
Kolby traveled to Festus and Jefferson HS and participated in both discus and shot put. He finished in 4th place out of 30 boys in discus and 12th place in shot put out of 27.
As of right now, with his performances for this season so far, Kolby is ranked number 1 in the state out of all 10th-grade boys in discus for Class 1. He is sitting at number 25 in the nation out of all 10th-grade boys in discus.
