For the 8th consecutive year, the Marquand Zion school district has competed in the annual National History Day State competition at Missouri University.
This year Sophomores Linna Lichtenegger and Holly Powell took their project, titled “The Bosnian Genocide” into state wide competition for a chance to qualify for the Nationals in Washington DC.
While both girls received high marks and represented Marquand Zion very well, unfortunately they did not place and their competition ended today.
This year’s theme, “Rights and Responsibilities in History” drew a large number of competitors from all across the state. Linna and Holly took home a first place trophy at Southeast Missouri State University in March before competing this weekend at Mizzou.
A special thanks to the parents, the staff and the administration of Marquand Zion schools for their annual support and helping to make our school successful each year.
Next year is coming sooner than you think!!
