The Marquand-Zion HS track and field team traveled to Potosi, MO this past Tuesday, April 22.

Eli Reimler Starkey ran the 100m, 400m, and 800m races.  This was his first time running the 400m, and he was able to turn in an impressive time of 1:00.30 which put him in 10th place.  Blake Stephens also ran the 400m and was able to achieve his best time this season of 1:03.14 giving him a 15th place finish.  Eli was also able to turn in his best time of the season in the 100m at 13.33 seconds.  Blake Stephens ran the 200m, also achieving his best time of the season of 28.12 seconds.  Tristian Hays was able to place 12th in the 200m with a time of 25.67 seconds; his best time of the season for this race.

Kolby Stafford threw both the shot put and discus.  He finished 14th in shot put with a throw of 10.75m, and was able to bring home a 4th place medal in discus!

Next week, our plans are to travel to Ste. Genevieve on Monday, Farmington on Tuesday, and only the "throwers" will travel back to Ste. Genevieve on Wednesday for a "Thrower's Meet."  We will compete at the SEMO Conference in Cape on Saturday, May 3.  Districts will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2025.
