RFP #1  -  Kitchen Floor

All bids should be addressed to the attention of Scott Blake, Superintendent   205 E. Morley Street   Marquand, MO 63655.  The envelope should be clearly marked “sealed bid.”  All bids shall contain a bidder’s bond in an amount equal to or greater than the total bid amount proposed.  All proposals over $75,000 or more must meet Missouri’s Prevailing Wage Law Chapter 290.  Sealed bid proposals must be submitted to the Superintendent at the above address by 2:00 pm on May 10, 2023.  All sealed bids will be opened at 2:00 pm on May 10, 2023, in the Office of the Superintendent at the above address.

Building tours and specific questions may be scheduled between the hours of 8:00 am and 2:00 pm. with Mr. Kenny Whitener, Maintenance Supervisor/Project Manager, by calling the above number.  

  • The contractor will prep for a resinous polymer flooring system in the District Kitchen. The District wants Continuous Flooring installed in the District Kitchen and storage area with 31’ of 30” seamless wall covering in the wash area, 9’ of 54” seamless wall covering behind the 3-hole sink, and a 6” seamless cove base around the remaining wall length of the kitchen and storage room.  The contractor will install a Desco Granite Series Floor manufactured by Desco Coatings, Inc. 1-800-373-8128. The Binder shall be an odor-free system and all successive grout and top coats shall be 100% solids clear resin. Aggregates as supplied by Desco Coatings are to be used to achieve all colors.  Finishes shall be SR Co-Polymer topcoat with desired texture. Finished work shall match approved samples; be uniform in thickness, sheen, color, pattern, and texture; and be free from defects detrimental to performance.  The floor coloring will be decided by the district in conjunction with the contractor.  This will include applying granite series flakes and two topcoats of 100% solids epoxy topcoat to seal the epoxy matrix and achieve the desired texture and finish.  

  • The prep work includes patching all cracks, holes, and divots with 100% solids epoxy filler.  Diamond grain existing substrate to create a bonding profile.   

  • The contractor will be responsible for cleaning all debris and unused materials prior to having a finished punch-out list.  

Dates and information needed for completing the remodeling

  • The work needs to be done between June 10 and July 31, 2023.

 

Payments

- All invoices for payment must be submitted to the bookkeeper, Rhonda Denman, on the 15th day of each month to be processed and paid after the regularly scheduled Marquand-Zion Board of Education meeting.  

- 15% of the total agreed-upon bid will be held until all of the work is completed and the District agrees that the punch-out list is complete.  

Additional items

  •  The company winning the bid will produce items showing they are fully insured.

  •  If work is done when students are present, a complete Missouri State Highway Patrol background check will be completed for each employee on the property.

  • If Missouri Prevailing Wage is required, a complete wage and salary report will be provided to the District bi-weekly.

RFP #2  -  Middle Building 

The District wants drop ceilings installed in 4 classrooms with LED panel system lighting.

  • All of the suspended ceilings will be an Armstrong Item #942-panel system.

  •  Classroom #1 (PreK) The contractor will remove the classroom ceiling and lighting before installing the new ceiling.  The new suspended ceiling will be set at 8’ 6”.  The contractor will install 12 of the 2’ by 4’ panel system lights fixtures with high-efficiency LED daylight bulbs.  The contractor will install 6 - 2’ x 2’ HVAC vents made for the panel system and the ductwork from the existing trunk to the vents.

  • Classroom #2 (Jr High Math - Mills)  The contractor will install the new suspended ceiling at 8’ 6”.  The contractor will install 6 of the 2’ by 4’ panel system light fixtures with high-efficiency LED daylight bulbs.  The contractor will install 3 - 2’ x 2’ HVAC vents made for the panel system and the ductwork from the existing trunk to the vents.

  • Classroom #3  (Jr. High Social Studies - Frymire) The contractor will install the new suspended ceiling at 93,” from the floor, in the classroom and foyer area.  The contractor will install 5 of the 2’ by 4’ panel system light fixtures with high-efficiency LED daylight bulbs inside the classroom and 1 in the foyer.  The contractor will install 2 - 2’ x 2’ HVAC vents made for the panel system and the ductwork from the existing trunk to the vents. 

  • Classroom #4 (Jr. High ELA - Lemons) The contractor will install the new suspended ceiling at 93” from the floor.  The contractor will install 6 of the 2’ by 4’ panel light fixtures with high-efficiency LED daylight bulbs.  The contractor will install 4 - 2’ x 2’ HVAC vents made for the panel system and the ductwork from the existing trunk to the vents. 

  • The electrical light switches in classrooms 3 and 4 will be separated to control the new lights in each classroom.  Classroom 4 needs a 3-way switch installed at the door dividing the two classrooms to allow control of the lights at both entrances to the room.

The contractor will be responsible for cleaning all debris and unused materials before having a finished punch-out list.  All work must be completed between June 8 and August 10, 2023.

RFP #3  -  Elementary Building Lighting

The District wants the current lighting system replaced with a new LED system and new ceiling tiles.

  • The contractor will remove and discard the current lighting systems and ceiling tiles.  Clean the drop ceiling tracking for the current panel system and put new ceiling tiles in the freshly cleaned panel system.  

  • The contractor will install 3 rows of 4 lights per row with 2’ by 4’ panel system light fixtures with high-efficiency LED daylight bulbs in each of the 6 general education classrooms. The rows of lights need to be spaced evenly from each side (left to right) of the ceiling.  

  •  The contractor will install 2 - 2’ by 4’ panel system light fixtures with high-efficiency LED daylight bulbs in the 3 offices, the workroom, and the smallest classroom;  and 3 lights in the remaining classroom.   

  •  The contractor will replace the 4 -  2’ by 4’ panel system light fixtures with high-efficiency LED daylight bulbs in each of the 2 restrooms.

  • There will be no work done in the boiler room.  

  • The contractor will install 10 new LED panel system light fixtures with LED daylight bulbs evenly spaced down the hallway.

The contractor will be responsible for cleaning all debris and unused materials before having a finished punch-out list.  All work must be completed between June 8 and August 10. 2023.
